Sprrinnng!

The Chirp
awoke the stillness
with a deep
sigh of relief.

We had some left over book pages from a holiday project at work and sometimes when Im in the back room I'll snag a few pages and circle words to make a short blurb. This is one of many that I actually completed. I think it turned out to be quite fitting seems how Im yearning for warm weather and every time I hear a bird sing I really feel so happy. The wicked season is finally letting go and transcending into the warm, comforting hug
I refer to as SPRING!

Fishing for Love

Fishing for Love

Sometimes we lose sight of where to fish. Mostly we focus outside of ourselves.
When really, you fish for your love first. Then, you notice it everywhere.

A man and his heart

A man and his heart | 2013

I've been creating these jar watercolors based off my personal transitions. In my life I often find myself curious about the feelings and emotions that come up and I wonder how easy or not so easy it would be to bottle them up and analyse them. I live my life within visual metaphors. I like to transcend reality and land within my  imagination where I find a sense of truth.

That's not the lesson in emotions. The lesson is acceptance. Embracing the idea that it's part of being human and we should feel lucky we feel these intense feelings. That we're alive in this human body experiencing everything this life has to offer.

Roping the moon

'Dreams' copyright 2010 Lacy Martin

Let me be as free as this light
Like the moon hangs solo in the night
Let me feel the energy as I capture this moment
Put it in a mason jar and forever own it.

This piece has a place within me so deep I cannot part from it anytime soon. I remember the moment i was inspired to paint this. I was at a farm and I looked up toward the night sky and the moon was so big and so bright I remember thinking I wish I could rope that moon and put it in a mason jar. I remembered how I would put lightening bugs in a jar in my room and just watch them at night. The moon grounds me, makes me feel comfort and inspires me to let my own light shine.

Spirals of Life

'Spirals of life'  copyright 2010 Lacy Martin

Spirals of life
How they dwindle through
The ripples of spirit
traveling in you.
Capturing the essence
of death and rebirth
Awed by the beauty
of life on earth.

Calm in the storm

"Calm in the storm" copyright 2010
Lacy Martin

I painted this a couple nights ago...I havent really been myself lately but Im working on becoming a better me. Sometimes it's better to not resist anything that comes to you whether it be emotionally, physically, mentally, whatever...the less you resist and ignore...the easier and faster you get through.
Im working hard on being the calm in the storm.
